The JITPUR ACADEMY came into existence on 14th Feb. 1974 due to the persistent efforts of a small section of intellectuals who realized the need for an educational institution to impart quality education to the wards of IISCO employees as well as non-IISCO local population of Jitpur which they were deprived of till then.
Ever since that period, the Academy has been making longer strides at a faster pace towards progress and achievements of academic goals despite stiff challenges on financial front. Subsequently in 1975, the sincerity and commitment in the efforts of staff have led the IISCO management finally to grant the aided school status to the Academy. In 1983, the Academy could successfully obtained the affiliation from Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. Over the years, the school due to the untiring and dedicated efforts of a wonderful team of trained and experienced teachers has employed itself into a vibrant Co-educational institution for imparting quality education in English medium.
1. Introduction of more PCs to facilitate optimum student- PC ratio.
2. Use of audio visual aids along with software for creating a better learning environment.
3. Introduction of ICAT (Interactive Computer Aided Teaching) – A revolutionary concept in class room teaching which will add a new powerful dimension to the process of teaching.
4. Fulfilment of Staff training & development needs to acquaint themselves with computer aided teaching methods.

The school aims at imparting quality education to the students through a highly qualified and thoroughly experienced teaching faculty assisted by state of the art technological aids. With its bench strength like the sense of direction, resilience of vast experience and motivated teaching fraternity, the school is committed to surge forward as the numerous in this region.
The course content in the syllabus is as approved and prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
School Curriculum
Special emphasis is given to co-curricular activities in the school in order to affect all round development of student. Events like Games & Sports , Yoga, Drawing & Painting, Dance & Drama, Essay writing, Elocution and Quiz competitions etc. are incorporated in the curriculum to provide impetus in this direction.
School Library
Books will be issued strictly on production of library card only. There are lots of books available for the students of their interest and knowledge purpose. Everyday students goes to the library take the book from the librarian Read the book & news papers also and again submit the books to the librarian.
